From their early days as a progressive group to their high-flying power-ballad days of the 80's, Journey remains one of the most popular bands from the AOR period. Their balanced attack of Steve Perry's dynamic vocals, Neal Schon's guitar work, and Jonathan Cain's keyboarding consistently proved successful, especially on such hits as "Don't Stop Believin'," "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)," and "Be Good To Yourself." Their core lineup of Schon, Cain, and Perry are rounded out by bassist Ross Valory, and famed fusion drummer Steve Smith. In recent years, the band has dealt with some lineup changes. Steve Perry left the band in 1998. Steve Smith left afterwards to continue his jazz career.

Line Of Fire Lyrics

Journey

It was a hot and steamy night,
Then frankie pulled his gun in sight.
He said, now suzi, dont you lie.
Did stevey, did he catch you with another guy?
Standing in the line of fire its gonna shoot ya.
Standing in the line of fire its comin to ya,
Its goin through ya.
He told her that he had been true,
And that hed never made her blue, no.
So dont go sayin steveys a liar,
Girl, Ive got my finder on a hair-trigger wire.
Standing in the line of fire its gonna shoot ya.
Standing in the line of fire its comin to ya,
Its goin through ya.
Bye, bye, bye, suzi.
So long girl.
Those gunshots echoed through the town.
Oh frankie threw his shotgun down.
That roof had moonlight shinin through.
She said shed never, never, never, make him blue, yea.
Standing in the line of fire its gonna shoot ya.
Standing in the line of fire its comin to ya,
Standing in the line of fire its gonna shoot ya.
Its goin through ya.
Bye, bye, bye, suzi.
So long.
