From their early days as a progressive group to their high-flying power-ballad days of the 80's, Journey remains one of the most popular bands from the AOR period. Their balanced attack of Steve Perry's dynamic vocals, Neal Schon's guitar work, and Jonathan Cain's keyboarding consistently proved successful, especially on such hits as "Don't Stop Believin'," "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)," and "Be Good To Yourself." Their core lineup of Schon, Cain, and Perry are rounded out by bassist Ross Valory, and famed fusion drummer Steve Smith. In recent years, the band has dealt with some lineup changes. Steve Perry left the band in 1998. Steve Smith left afterwards to continue his jazz career.

I dont know why, theres an open flame
Burnin in the game, its me you blame
I cant deny, it was a crime
If you would let me try, maybe youd change your mind
Dont be down on me baby
Down on me girl
I get lost sometimes
In my crazy world
Those little things, you say I do
Well they might be true
Tell me what good does it do...
When things go wrong, Im the first you blame
I try another way, still someones gotta pay
Dont be down on me baby
Down on me girl
I get lost sometimes
In my crazy world
Dont be down on me baby
cause I love you
cause I need you
